Here is the conclusion to my essay:

Koha’s features, cost, technical support, customization, and use by other libraries have been outlined. The amount of savings cannot be determined at this point without a thorough analysis of the cost of support and staff training. However, implementation of the Koha ILS would be facilitated by the experience of the systems staff in managing an open source operating system like Linux at the DPL. Furthermore, any savings can be used to improve and specialize service provided to DPL users. If customization and the possibility of savings are priorities for the DPL, then perhaps a switch to the Koha ILS is a viable consideration.

new name...

I have decided to re-name my blog. They continue by describing the growing popularity of Web 2.0 applications. Furthermore, they discuss whether or not these types of applications could benefit libraries, and finally, they discuss how libraries might employ Web 2.0 applications, thus becoming Library 2.0. This argument reflects evidence, opinions, and examples from external sources, including the library literature, and although Chad and Miller offer a well organized argument in “Do Libraries Matter? The Rise of Library 2.0”, they could have supported it better by utilizing a greater number of resources.

Information People Welcome!

Welcome!

I forgot to welcome everyone to my blog yesterday. What kinds of things do people do to celebrate on the internet? :) is that good enough, maybe this would be better :D. People are always including these things in their emails to me. I assume it's usually for emphasis, or for celebration as is the case here. Although, I do hope that when my friend's write, "I'd love to go with you to the movies :D" that they are really not celebrating, and rather just smiling at me through their computers, or cell phones, as the case may be. Regardless, this is the first time that I have ever used them, and now that I've started I may just have to make it a habit, because it seems that happy faces make people feel good whether in person or on the Internet.

See you all soon,

Erica.
