Dear Fellow 1311ers,
Well, I guess since this is my very first blog post I should do something to celebrate. What kinds of things do people do to celebrate on the internet? :) is that good enough, maybe this would be better :D. People are always including these things in their emails to me. I assume it's usually for emphasis, or for celebration as is the case here. Although, I do hope that when my friend's write, "I'd love to go with you to the movies :D" that they are really not celebrating, and rather just smiling at me through their computers, or cell phones, as the case may be. Regardless, this is the first time that I have ever used them, and now that I've started I may just have to make it a habit, because it seems that happy faces make people feel good whether in person or on the Internet.
See you all soon,
Erica.

Haha I love your little speech on ':)' because I am one to use them all the time. I think it's the most personal that text messaging, emails, blogging and any other form of electronic writing is going to get! Once where we used to be able to see someone's expressions or hear their tone of voice, now is left up to our imagination. Therefore, in the event of not reading someone's writing the wrong way, adding a nice 'smile' at the end lets the reader know that the person is speaking in a positive, happy way :). Who knew that colons and brackets would one day have a whole knew meaning?? Anyhow, good luck on your first blog..it is cause for a celebration! :D
If I knew how, I'd send along my dancing MC Hammer from MSN. Oh emoticons!
anon posting setup ok
I like emoticons but I'll be honest, when I first started seeing them I didn't get it. Then I started to confuse other things as being emoticons. Like lol for example. I thought for an embarrasingly long time that it was the head and arms of a person holding both arms up in the air in victory and the "o" in the middle was his head. Do you see it? When I found out it meant laughing out loud I was a little dissappointed.
i very much adore your own writing choice, very useful.
don't give up as well as keep writing as a result it simply just good worth to read it.
looking forward to looked over way more of your own stories, goodbye!
